For too long, the church has been known for what it is against.
At Beachside Community Church, we want to be known for what we are FOR.
We are...
FOR THE NEXT GEN
When we began Beachside Community Church, a significant driving force was to engage the next generation and help them to develop a strong faith of their own. Current statistics show that only 50% of people in the US, including teenagers, attend church, and 70% of churched teenagers disengage from church by the time they are in college.
In our community, we have 12,000 middle and high school students. The opportunity for us is enormous. This new facility will provide an improved, dedicated space for student ministry that includes a large group area, gathering space, and most importantly, small group space. One of the primary ways to lead students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ is to connect them to caring adults so they can have meaningful conversations. It is critical that we provide appropriate space for students to have safe conversations about the issues and struggles they face.
FOR CONNECTIONS
Some of the best guidance for the church came from a statement made by James, the brother of Jesus, when he declared “We should not make it difficult for people who are turning to God”- Acts 15:19. In order to make it as easy as possible for people to begin their journey with Jesus, we have to find ways for people to take easy, obvious, and strategic next steps.
Our new, renovated space will provide two incredible ways for us to help people connect. First, there will be a dedicated suite for Starting Point, a short-term small group designed for people with questions about faith. Second, the new area will incorporate a quiet, comfortable space where we can meet and engage with new guests.
